John P. Pliske, 99 of Porter, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 24, 2011 at
St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Michigan City, Ind.
He was born May 22, 1912 in Pine Township to Walter and Veronica (Demorotski)
Pliske, both of whom preceded him in death.
On June 22, 1935 in St. Patrick Church Rectory, in Chesterton, he married
Frances Louise Sievert who preceded him in death.
John is survived by his daughter Nancy Pliske Pacholke of Porter, a
granddaughter Cheryl Pacholke Whybrew, her husband Steven of Porter, three
great-grandchildren, Samantha Behrndt, Rachel Whybrew and Jennifer Whybrew
and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by all his siblings, Herman, Lillian Brandt,
Walter Jr., Clement, Alexander, Eleanor Shooter, James and Thomas.
John was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, a partner in Pliske
Construction, a Carpenters Union member since 1934 and a Charter Member of
the Chesterton Moose Lodge 1623 since 1971.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638
N. Calumet, Chesterton, on Wednesday, June 29, at 11:30 a.m. with Father
James Meade officiating. Burial will be in the Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.,
with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home 525 South
2nd St. Chesterton, Ind.
