John Ellis Salyer of Valparaiso passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb.
12, 2011 at Porter Hospital. He was 71.
He was born to Edwin and Mary Frances (Mc Donald) Salyer in Mt. Sterling,
Ky.
He is survived by his daughter, Karole Pulchaski of Florida; siblings
Katherine Bennett, Pat Salyer of Jackson Township, and James Salyer; and a
niece, five nephews and several great nieces.
He was active in the field of banking and business when he lived in
Lexington, Ky. He has been a resident of Valparaiso for the past 10 years,
where he has done volunteer work. He was a good friend to many, especially
as a friend of Bill W. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to
Alice’s, Inc. or the Respite House. A memorial service will be at Flint Lake
Church off Edgewater Beach Road at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15. Arrangements
