Howard Alan Blumer, age 52 of Ellijay, Georgia, died Sunday November 13, 2011.

Blumer was born on April 1, 1959, in Valparaiso, Ind.

He is survived by his wife Ana Blumer, of Ellijay, Georgia.

Also surviving are his son Josh Blumer, of Woodstock, Georgia; daughters Shannon Blumer, also of Woodstock and Melissa Blumer, of Waleska, Georgia.

Also, his mother Patricia Blumer, of Indiana and his father James Blumer, of Chesterton; brothers Dan, Greg, Jim and John Blumer, all of Indiana and special nephew Brian Blumer, of North Carolina.

Blumer was retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving 29 years. He was also a member of the Holly Creek Baptist Church in Chatsworth.

Funeral services were held Wednesday November 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home.

Interment will be held Thursday November 17 at 10:30 a.m. from the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, with Military rites by the U.S. Air Force.
