Catherine H. Sipes of Porter passed away Friday, March 4, 2011 at her home. She was 88.

She was born Nov. 25, 1922 in Elkhart to Francis and Evelyn (Weliver) Fitzpatrick, both of whom preceded her in death. On Dec. 24, 1945 in Lafayette, Catherine married Leroy Sipes Sr., who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children Leroy E. Sipes Jr. of Hammond and Sandra Callahan of Porter; grandchildren Michele Callahan of Oaklawn, Ill., Danyel (Mike) Dutcher of Chesterton, and Christopher (Val) Sipes of Portage; and great grandchildren Cory, Justin and Samantha Runions of Chesterton.

There will be no services. Memorials may be given to VNA Hospice in memory of Catherine. Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton. Phone: 926-1309.
