Betty A. Ream, of Chesterton, passed away Monday, January 10, 2011 at
Whispering Pines, Valparaiso. She was 85.
She was born August 20, 1925 in Friendsville, Maryland to Harry and Ruth
(Friend) Friend both of whom preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by her son Robert (Vicki) Ream of Chesterton, her
grandchildren Michelle (Steven) Levy of Indianapolis, Jennifer Ream of
Chicago, Bobbie Jo (John) Whitenack of Seattle, along with her grandchildren
and great grandchildren in Florida.
She is survived by her siblings Harry (Jenny) Friend of Pennsylvania,
Richard Friend of Pennsylvania, Evelyn Fike of Chesterton and Helen Nervik
of Chesterton.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Budd Emil Ream in 1995, her
stepson Lewis Ream in 1989, her brothers John, Wilbur, Carl, Robert and Tom,
her sisters Lorraine, Bertha and Ada.
Betty was a very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Winter Haven,
Florida, She was also past Treasurer of the Eagle Lake Florida Women’s Club
and a member of the Eagle Lake Florida Garden Club
Betty’s family were the founding fathers of the town Friendsville, where she
was born and where she will be buried next to them.
Graveside services will be held at the Friendsville Cemetery, Friendsville,
Maryland on Wednesday, January 19, 2011.
The family will have a private service on Saturday, January 15, at the
White-Love Funeral Home with Pastor Erik Bernth officiating.
Memorials may be given in memory of Betty to St. Agnes Adult Daycare,
Valparaiso Indiana.
