Sue Vician of Portage, formerly of Gary, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010.
She was 91.
Sue was born on Jan. 25, 1919 in Czechoslovakia to John and Sue (Deliman)
Sivak, both of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Samuel Vician (wife Loreta) of Gary; daughters
Yvonne Gee (husband Richard) of Crown Point, Janice Rubens (Jim) of
Chesterton and Wendy Harnung (Jerry) of Portage; 10 grandchildren, Robert
Gee, Debbie Scott (Rich), Kim Thunherst (Chuck), Valerie Rubens, Christopher
Harnung (Erica), Nicole Harnung, Michael Vician (Rose), Rodney Vician,
Curtis Vician and April Vician; and three great grandchildren Hannah, Brian
and Ari.
Sue was preceded in death by her sister, MaryLee, and former husband, Samuel
Vician.
She was a clerk at the community Discount Stores and had previously worked
at Ribordy, Sears and Sax Shoes. She was a member at St. Peter Lutheran
Church in Portage.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter
Lutheran Church, 6540 Central Ave., Portage, with Pastor Frederick Hoover
officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Edmonds
& Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage. Memorials
may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Building Fund.
