Chesterton resident Marilyn J. Friday, 61, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Porter Hospital Valparaiso Campus.

She was born in Gary on Oct. 13, 1949, the daughter of Gordon Smith, who precedes her in death, and Loretta (Reglen) Smith, who survives in Chesterton.

She is also survived by her husband, Raymond C. Friday; her daughter, Laura (Scott) Horton of Chesterton; step-children Eric (Angie) Friday of Niles Mich., Adam (Jodie) Friday of Miller, Amie Friday of Houston, Texas, and Erin (Christopher) Slade of Waco, Texas; grandchildren Misty Hall, Haley Horton, Cheyenne Horton, Matthew Friday, Ryan Friday, Taylor Friday and Alex Friday.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Smith.

Marilyn was employed at the Westchester Convenient Center from 1987-89. She was also a terrific Grandma.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street Chesterton. Burial will follow at the Chesterton Cemetery.
