Porter resident Lewis F. Willett, 86, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the
Arbors Nursing Home in Michigan City.
He was born Jan. 25, 1924, in Henning, Ill., the son of Richard L. and Marie
Willett, who preceded him in death.
On Jan. 27, 1945, he married Loretta E. Adams, who Dec. 29, 2008, also
preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Steve (Peggy) Willett of LaPorte and Gerald
Willett of Chesterton; a daughter, Jeanne (Terry) Grisham of Michigan City;
sisters Thelma Wiseman of California and Helen Slont of Chesterton; four
grandchildren, Shane (Anita) Grisham, Craig Willett, Brandi Grisham, and
Carol Kirk; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandsons.
Lewis worked at USS Gary Works and was a member of USW Local 1014 and the
Lighthouse Christian Center. He served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services, Pastor Tony Goin officiating, are scheduled for 1 p.m.
Tuesday, March 30, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway in
Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service at
Edmonds & Evans.
