Former Chesterton resident Kathryn J. Solley died Friday, March 19, 2010, at
Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. A resident of New
Carlisle, Ind., she was 49.
She was born Sept. 20, 1960, in Gary, the daughter of James Findley and
Sandra Miller Stanton, who preceded her in death.
On April 10, 1996, she married John Solley, who survives in New Carlisle.
She is also survived by a son, Phillip Piontek of Valparaiso; two brothers,
Michael (Debbie) Findley of Rolling Prairie, Ind., and Chuck (Jennifer)
Findley of LaPorte; a sister, Becky (Ed) Christy of Valparaiso; and her
mother-in-law, Pauline Solley of Chesterton.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle.
Kathy was a homemaker and for many years worked as a waitress at the
Northside Diner in Chesterton.
Funeral services, Pastor Rick Henderson officiating, are scheduled for 7
p.m. Tuesday, March 23, at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. Second St. in
Chesterton. Cremation will follow the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. Tuesday until the time of
service at White-Love.
