John R. Bowman, 80, of Chesterton, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at Porter
Hospital Valparaiso Campus.
He was born on May 17, 1930, in Kankakee, the son of John William Bowman and
Sabra Turner Bowman, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his wife Barbra in July 2007.
He is survived by his children, David (Jacki) Bowman of Miami, Fla., Paul
(Anna Marie) Bowman of San Diego, Calif., and Nina (Raymond Zuran) Bowman of
Chesterton; grandchildren Hilary (Kyle) Ledbetter, Brittany Wiesemann (AJ
Steueber), Cameron Bowman, and Craig Scharf; and great-grandchildren
Emileigh, Addison, Mason and Brayden.
John was an ironworker with Local 395, an avid ham radio operator, and a
Navy veteran, and he enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Funeral services, Pastor Lorrayne Rizer officiating, are scheduled for 7
p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 27, at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. Second St.
in Chesterton.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral today from 3 until 7
