Bert R. Ruble, age 60, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at his residence.

He was born in East Chicago on Feb. 19, 1950, the son of James and Frances (Leonard) Ruble, who preceded him in death.

On October 9, 1981, he married Kathy Bielak, who survives in Valparaiso.

He is also survived by his son, Jon Ruble of Chicago; daughter, Mary Ruble of Valparaiso; father- and mother-in-law, Chester and Evelyn Bielak of East Chicago; brothers, Jim (Joannie) Ruble of Urbandale, Iowa, Joe (Cathy) Ruble of Mesa, Ariz., and Tom Ruble of Hammond; sisters, Delores Mish of Schererville, Marlene Winkler of Hammond, Lil (Henry) Peters of Lowell, and Jeanette Francis of East Chicago; brothers-in-law, Steven (Val) Bielak of Crown Point and George Dobos of Highland,; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Pat Dobos.

Bert was a self employed business man. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the American Legion Post 94.

A memorial service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway in Chesterton.
