Porter resident Stanley E. Wilson passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 in
Valparaiso. He was 85.
Born on Sept. 5, 1924 in Iowa, he was the son of Earl and Hazel (Hilton)
Wilson, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 27, 1948, he married Patricia (Marcks)
Wilson, who preceded him in death on March 28, 2005.
He is survived by sons Steven Wilson (wife Susan) of LaGrange, Ill., David
Wilson (Darlene) of Chicago, Donald Wilson (Debra) of Chesterton, and Andrew
Wilson (Angela) of Hobart; daughter Carolyn Pool of Chesterton; and
grandchildren, Brian, Beth, Brett, Matthew, Michele, Joshua, Ann, Katie,
Jonathon, Max and Zoe.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his
sisters, Eleanor and Dorothy.
Stanley was an area resident since 1976, coming from Chicago. He retired
from the Chicago Tribune, where he worked as a pressman. Stanley was a
veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
Funeral services were held today, Monday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. at Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with Rev. Larry Starett
officiating. Burial followed at Chesterton Cemetery. Visitation was held
