Hebron resident Reva D. Frizzell passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 27,
2010 at her home after a long illness. She was 75.
Born in Jamestown, Tenn., she retired from U.S. Steel Gary Sheet & Tin Slab
Yard in 1984 and was a member of U.S.W.A. local union #1066. Reva was a
member of Eastlake Baptist Church and loved to travel and watch her favorite
teams, the Chicago Bulls and Bears. She was a registered AKC breeder of
dachshunds and leaves behind Oscar, Reebe, Lucy and a special canine
companion, Holly.
She is survived by sons Howard (wife Terri) Hurst of Chesterton, Ricky
(Becky) Hurst of Portage, Jeffrey (MaryLou) Hurst of Valparaiso; daughter
Sheila (Joe) Sut of Valparaiso; grandchildren Dena (Brian) Dennis of
Valparaiso, Charles Hurst of Chicago, Courtney (Bill) Shukitis of
Valparaiso, Robert Hurst of Bradon, Fla., Nathan (Christine) Hurst of
Clearwater, Fla., Kathryn Hurst and Matthew Hurst both of Valparaiso, Joe
Sut and Kimberly Jo Sut both of Gary; three great grandchildren Emma
Shukitis, Christian Dennis and DeLaney Dennis all of Valparaiso; brothers,
Clarence Harding of Jamestown, Tenn., James Harding of Hebron; sisters,
Wanda Rogers of Hobart/Merrillville, Margaret (Rudy) Mance of Jamestown,
Tenn., Linda (Jerry) Watson of Hebron; several nieces and nephews; two sons
in an extended family, Dennis (Linda) Frizzell and David (Joanne) Frizzell
of Hobart; daughters Sue (Tom) McHugh of Crown Point and Donna (Ron) Rouse
of Warrior, Ala.; grandchildren Emily Frizzell of London, England, Denny (Janae)
Frizzell of Florida, Stevie Frizzell of Hobart, Libby McHugh of Crown Point,
Hannah (Mitch) Taylor of Warrior, Ala., and Andrew Rouse of Warrior,
currently serving in the U.S. Military.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Varner Harding and Nannie Howe;
husbands Charles Frizzell and Robert Hurst; son Robert Hurst; grandson Jeff
Hurst; and sister Clotene McKinney.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1, at 11 a.m. with a
visitation one hour prior to the service at Eastlake Baptist Church, 7121 E.
Lincoln Hwy., Crown Point with Rev. Rick Hillard officiating. Burial will
follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Visitation will be held on
Friday, April 30, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old
