Portage resident Patricia M. Persuhn passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 in Valparaiso. She was 71.

She was born January 16, 1939 in Chicago to Harold William and Jean (Voight) Mulcahey. She was married to William Persuhn Sr., who survives in Portage.

She is also survived by her sons, William Persuhn Jr. (wife Shawna) of Waterford, N.Y. and Joshua Persuhn (Andrea) of Chesterton; daughters Deborah Nichols of New Chicago, Ind., Pamela Walter of Lowellville, Ohio, Elizabeth (husband Ernie) Ciarniello of Lowellville, Ohio, Christine (James) Field of Portage and Rachael (Jacob) Wesley of Chesterton; sister Marlene Conrad; 14 grandchildren, Lynea, Stevie, Bob, Jimmi, Alexis, Gavin, Tyler, Madeline, Gisele, Jude, Destiny, Brittney and Courtney; one great grandchild, Elliana, and one more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Malachi.

Patricia was a graduate of Hobart High School and was co-Pastor of Redeemed Christian Center Church in Portage. She loved gardening and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 28 at 11 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, with Pastor William Persuhn officiating. Burial will follow at Heritage Cemetery, Portage. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
