Former Chesterton resident Nancy A. Bailey of Fishers, Ind. passed away at
her home on Sept. 14, 2010. She was 82.
Nancy was born on Dec. 1, 1927 in Huntington to Arnet and Marie Fisher. She
graduated from Chesterton High School in 1946.
On Sept. 14, 1947 at Chesterton First United Methodist Church, Nancy married
the love of her life and husband of 63 years, Russell Bailey, who survives.
Nancy and Russell owned and operated Bailey’s Interiors for 39 years before
retiring in 1994. In addition to spending time with her family, Nancy
enjoyed decorating, shopping, cooking, reading, gardening, and pro
basketball games. She was a gifted artist who loved to sketch and paint.
Also surviving are her children Nancy M. Paulk (husband Robert) of Fishers;
Candace Aburdene (Odeh) of Washington, D.C.; Janice Ditto (David) of
Fishers; and Russell W. Bailey, Jr. (Arlene) of Carmel; grandchildren
Gregory Miller, Kathryn Knuckles, Lena Aburdene, Gretchen Bracey, Russell
Aburdene, and Audrey Bailey; and great grandchildren Rachel Knuckles, Megan
Knuckles, Anna Bracey and Eva Bracey.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 19 at the White-Love
Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton from 2 until 6 p.m. Visitation
will also be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 20 at the Chesterton First
United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with
Pastor Chris Newman-Jacobs officiating. Memorial contributions may be made
