Michael E. Mucha passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 15, 2010. He was 52.

Born April 26, 1958, he is survived by his loving wife Gayle, a former Chesterton resident; parents Andrew and Barbara; special Grandma Jennie Bottilla; brothers Scott and Tim; sister Jennifer Manoski (husband Matt); son Nicolas; and special nephew, Andrew.

He was preceded in death by his special grandparents, Edward Bottila and Michael and Mary Mucha.

Michael was a life long area resident and a 1976 graduate of Portage High School. He was a former employee of Steel Technologies, working as a reversing mill operator. He was an avid Nascar fan and loved fishing. He enjoyed helping animal shelters and caring for homeless animals. He was a very loving husband and dedicated his life to his family. He will be missed deeply.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 18 at 7 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 18 from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Robert Bonta officiating.
