Chesterton resident Marlene Walker passed away on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010. She
was 71.
She was born in West Mifflin, Pa., on April 30, 1939 to Allen and Beatrice (Coozey)
O’Hara. She was employed at the Wiseway deli. She was a member of the
Chesterton Moose Lodge Chapter 846, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary
Post 170 and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 988.
Marlene is survived by her son, William McWhorter (wife Lorri) of Porter;
daughters Cheryl Carrera (husband Paul) of Port Charlotte, Fla., Lorie
Jorgensen (Shawn) of Marysville, Tenn. and Susan Craft (Jim) of New
Carlisle, Ind.; sisters Deborah O’Hara of Clairton, Pa., and Karen
Scapellato (Dan) of Clairton, Pa.; special friend Larry Stevens of
Chesterton; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Walker; first
husband and good friend, William McWhorter; brother, Allen O’Hara; and
sisters Allene Lucas and Beatrice Walsh.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the
Chesterton Moose Lodge, 602 Broadway, Chesterton. Arrangements are in the
care of Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Chesterton, IN.
