Leigh Anne E. Eckert of Valparaiso passed away Friday, April 16, 2010. She was 24.

She was born June 30, 1985 in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of Rene Michael. On March 16, 2009, she married Christopher Eckert, who survives.

Also surviving are children Kylena Lopez and Christopher Eckert, Jr. both of Valparaiso; her mother, Rene Michael of Valparaiso; father David Lopez of Florida; brothers Andrew (wife Sarah), Shawn, Jeremiah, Tylar, and David Jr. (Christine); grandfather Jim Michael (wife Judy) of LaPorte; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Michael.

Leigh Anne will be fondly remembered as a caring mother, loving wife and daughter whose easy smile and independent quiet nature endeared her to all that were lucky enough to venture into her world. She and her mother attended Lighthouse Christian Church in Chesterton.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, with Pastor Kevin Birky officiating. Cremation will follow at Angelcrest Crematory. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. MoellerFuneralHome.com
