H. Raymond McDonald, Jr. of Pine Township joined his Lord and Savior on
Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010 at St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point after a long and
valiant fight with cancer. He was 67.
He was born on Jan. 5, 1943 in Michigan City to Howard R. and Anna Lee
Stewart McDonald. On Nov. 26, 1976, he married Lois McCauley, who survives.
Also surviving are sons H. Robert (wife Diana) of Jefferson City, Mo., and
James (Sarah) and Daniel (Christina), all of Chesterton; grandchildren Anna,
Sarah, and David of Jefferson City, Mo.; mother of Michigan City; sister
Jeanette Eason of Michigan City; special aunt and uncle Gerri and Phil
Smith; and cousins Beth Seifert (husband Duane) of LaPorte and Tom Smith
(Sue) of Michigan City.
He was preceded by his father and his nephew and niece David and Susanna
Eason.
He was a lifelong farmer. He learned faming skills from his dad, continuing
the tradition of “The Old McDonald Farm.” He was able to use those skills
when he worked at the Indiana State Prison as a farm foreman for more than
20 years. He was a long and active member of Fairhaven Baptist Church in
Porter and loved the Lord.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. at Fairhaven
Baptist Church, 86 E. Oak Hill Road with Pastor Roger Voegtlin officiating.
Burial will be in Furnessville Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Fairhaven
Church or to Service League in Michigan City. Arrangements are under the
