Fannie Jane Lowther of Chesterton passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 in
Chesterton. She was 93.
She was born January 3, 1917 in Brush Valley, Pa. to Robert and Clara (Dearmine)
McCormick, who preceded her in death. She was married on March 23, 1938 to
Henry S. Lowther, who preceded her in death in 1987.
She is survived by her son, Robert S. Lowther (wife Joan) of Chesterton;
daughter Donna Genene Stout (husband Robert) of Valparaiso; sisters Edna
Campbell (Wayne preceded) of Indiana, Pa. and Mildred (Arthur) Cochran of
Brush Valley, Pa.; sister in law Jean McCormick of Indiana, Pa.; 13
grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda R. Musgrave, and
brothers, Edward McCormick and Clyde McCormick.
Fannie was an area resident since 1954, coming from California by way of
Pennsylvania. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of
Chesterton, where she was also a member of the Women’s Elizabeth Circle.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with Pastor Chris
Newman-Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery,
Chesterton. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010 from 10:30
a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial
donations may be made to the United Methodist Women c/o First United
Methodist Church of Chesterton, 434 S. Second St., Chesterton, IN 46304.
