Eugene A. “Gene” Hollencamp passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 in Valparaiso.
He was 100.
He is survived by his daughter Joan Murphy (husband Larry) of Chesterton;
grandchildren Michael Murphy (wife Jane), Kathleen Murphy and Anne Kline
(Joe); and great-grandchildren Alex, Elizabeth, Christopher, Robert,
Jonathon, Raymond and Adele.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite (Hoefler) Hollencamp in
1996 and a brother, Francis Hollencamp.
Gene was employed by his family business, Hollencamp Men’s Clothing Store,
in Dayton and later became vice-president of Gustav Wiedeke Company. He was
also past-president of the Dayton Optimist Club and a 1931 graduate of The
University of Dayton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at
Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton, Ohio, 45410. A mass of
Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church in
Dayton. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may
