Service set for Eugene A. Hollencamp

Eugene A. “Gene” Hollencamp passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 in Valparaiso. He was 100.

He is survived by his daughter Joan Murphy (husband Larry) of Chesterton; grandchildren Michael Murphy (wife Jane), Kathleen Murphy and Anne Kline (Joe); and great-grandchildren Alex, Elizabeth, Christopher, Robert, Jonathon, Raymond and Adele.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite (Hoefler) Hollencamp in 1996 and a brother, Francis Hollencamp.

Gene was employed by his family business, Hollencamp Men’s Clothing Store, in Dayton and later became vice-president of Gustav Wiedeke Company. He was also past-president of the Dayton Optimist Club and a 1931 graduate of The University of Dayton.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at Westbrock Funeral Home, 1712 Wayne Ave, Dayton, Ohio, 45410. A mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Dayton. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
