David A. Raby of Jackson Township passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010. He was 46.

He was born Dec. 11, 1963 in Chicago. On Dec. 31, 2005 in Porter, he married Julietta (Satter) Raby, who survives.

Also surviving are his father, Arthur Raby (wife JoEllen) of Valparaiso; mother Gloria Raby of Lowell; stepson Mark Thornton of Washington, D.C.; brothers Randy Raby (Jeanette) and Jason Raby (Pamela), both of Lowell; nephews Nathan, Caleb and Nick, all of Lowell; and many aunts and uncles, including Tom (Brock) Brajkovich of Lowell.

David was a resident of Northwest Indiana for 40 years, coming from Chicago. He worked as a self-employed home inspector and was a member of the Duneland Chamber of Commerce. David was a gifted song writer who wrote and played original and traditional music. He was a very kind and loving person with a great sense of humor.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22 at 7 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with Rev. Rick Henderson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22 from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Cremation will be performed by Heritage Crematory, Portage.
