Aaron Lee Smith of Chesterton died on Sept. 19, 2010. He was 38.

Born on May 16, 1972, he graduated from Chesterton High School in 1991 and from Vincennes University with a degree in broadcasting. He was currently enrolled at Ivy Tech Community College.

Aaron was a wonderful, loving and devoted father to his daughter, Avery Londyn Gavin. He also loved his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all. He had a passion for music and playing the guitar. His appreciation of music inspired him to teach Avery all the Beatles songs. A beautiful soul has left us. May he rest in peace.

Along with his daughter Avery, he is survived by his mother, Cheryl Smith of Michigan City; soulmate April Gavin of Chesterton; aunt Sallie Blaser (Frank); and cousins Patience Cooley, Dottie Trusty, Ed Trusty, Dixie Hayenga, and Wendy Slawson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, one uncle, one aunt, and one cousin.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton, with a 5 p.m. memorial service.
