Philip “Tom” Criswell, age 44, of Burns Harbor, passed away June 28, 2010 in
Valparaiso.
He was born November 20, 1965 in Valparaiso to Philip D. and Mary Ann (Hanrahan)
Criswell, who preceded him in death.
Phil is survived by his son Nicholas Criswell of Burns Harbor; daughters,
Brianna Criswell and Annalee Criswell, both of Porter; step son, Brandon
Hansen of Porter; sister, Vickie (Brian) Sowards of Valparaiso; brother, Tim
Criswell of Lake Station and nephews, Josh Goranson, Kyle Goranson and T.S.
Criswell.
Phil was a lifelong area resident. He was a member of Duneland Community
Church and worked as an Operator for the Town of Chesterton.
Phil also worked at Blythe’s Sporting Goods for several years. He coached
Liberty Rec Softball for more than 20 years before retiring.
Phil was a veteran of the US Army.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. at
Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway Chesterton. Funeral services will
be held on Sunday, July 4, 2010 from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. at the Duneland
Community Church, 1552 Pioneer Trail, Chesterton.
Cremation will take place at Heritage Crematory, Portage.
Memorials may be made to either the VNA Hospice Center or to the family for
a trust fund to be set up for his children.
