Matthew Pruitt dies at 35

Matthew Paul Pruitt, the son of a Chesterton resident, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010. A resident of Rockville, Ind., he was 35.

He was born in Hobart on March 19, 1975.

He is survived by his father, Richard D. (DeAnn) Pruitt of Chesterton; his mother, Julia Pruitt of Arizona; two brothers, Jason (Holly) Pruitt of Ohio and Scott (Rhonda) Pruitt of Hobart; a sister, Angie (Terrence) Pruitt of Hobart; a grandmother, Elizabeth Pruitt of Hobart; nephews Beau, Ty, and Christopher Pruitt; a niece, Amaya Pruitt; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Pruitt and his Grandma and Grandpa Tanner.

Matthew was a member of the Hobart High School Class of 1993 and of the Sons of the American Legion Post 502. Matt was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed fishing. He loved his family especially his niece and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Hobart.
