Kitty Jane Ross dies at 92

Kitty Jane Ross, 92, formerly of Gary, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Plainfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in northern Minnesota on December 23, 1917, to Elizabeth (Haylett) and Clyde Cutrell.

In March, 1937 in Danville, Illinois, she married James F. Ross, who preceded her in death in September, 1973. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mantel Cutrell.

She is survived by her children, Jim (Judy) Ross of Chesterton, David (Wendy) Ross of Owosso, Michigan, and Beverly Rink of Plainfield, her seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Clyde Cutrell of Newport, Indiana.

She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, and especially enjoyed spending time at her summer home on Shafer Lake in Monticello.

After raising her family, Kitty fulfilled her dream of nursing by working for several years as a nurse's aid. She attended the Camby Community Church and cherished all her friends there.

Calling hours will be from 3-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 15 and from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, September 16 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 16 at Jones Family Mortuary with Charles Paxton officiating. There will be an 11:00 a.m. graveside service on Friday, September 17 at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Camby Community Church.
