Catherine Kaiser of Michigan City passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in Valparaiso. She was 88.

She was born August 21, 1921 in Chesterton to Bernard and Mary (Stehoviak) Yagelski, who preceded her in death. On June 19, 1948 she married Willis J. Kaiser, who preceded her in death in 1998.

Catherine is survived by her sisters Frances Brown of Valparaiso and Margaret Kaiser of Chesterton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Albert Yagelski, and sisters Mary Ann Yagelski, Clara Rhode, Victoria Nellessen, Lucy Humphrey and Helen Gaushorn.

Catherine formerly worked as an Assembler for Talos and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed bingo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Road, Chesterton, with Father Lawrence Heeg officiating. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 11 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with a Rosary Service at 5 p.m. www.EE-FH.com
