Portage resident Ann W. Popp died at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Central in Lafayette after being in failing health since August. She was 64.

Born April 26, 1945 in Whiting, she was the daughter of the late George and Betty (Webb) Sutton. She graduated from Washington Township High School in 1963 and then later graduated from Purdue North Central School of Nursing.

She was a registered nurse at Porter Memorial Hospital, retiring in April of 2008. Prior to that she worked for St. Mary’s Medical Center and Methodist Hospital in Gary and started her nursing career at LaPorte Hospital.

She was an avid reader and proud Purdue Alumni and enjoyed Purdue PMO shows. She also enjoyed spending time with her sons, James L. Popp and John R. Popp, both of whom survive in West Lafayette.
