Stella Pearman dies at 79

Stella Pearman, of Chesterton, passed away Monday, January 26, 2009 at Whispering Pines Health Center, Valparaiso. She was 79.

She was born Aug. 25, 1928 in Hazzard, Ky. the daughter of Thomas and Callie (Price) Thacker, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by six children, Paul L. (Debra) Pearman, of Niceville, Fla.; Linda (Glenn) Peterson, of Chesterton, Perry (Sheila) Pearman, of Newport, Wash., Ronald (Darlene) Pearman, Portage, Donald (Tony) Pearman, of San Diego, Calif. and Troy Bowgren, of Sutton W. Va. Grandchildren, Glenn S. (Audra) Peterson, Nathan (Amy) Pearman, Laura (Buster) Webb, Tristan Gage Pearman and Joe Pearman; great-grandchildren, Glenn R. II, Jordan and Austin Peterson, Abbi and Josh Pearman, Ryon, Shea and Case Webb. 

Stella had 11 brothers and sisters and those surviving live in Springfield.

Stella had been employed by Jewel-Osco in Michigan City, and Smedman’s in Chesterton as a grocery clerk.

Funeral services, Pastor Jane L. Aicher officiating, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 31 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive fiends Saturday, Jan. 31 from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m.

Memorials may be given to Whispering Pines Alzheimer’s Unit, or to VNA Hospice Program of Porter County, 501 Marquette St., Valparaiso, IN 46383.
