Jackson Township resident Traci Lynn Scott (nee Griffin), 33, died suddenly
Monday, Nov. 30, 2009.
She was born April 9, 1976, and lived in Sugarland, Texas, until she was 17
when she moved to Chesterton. She graduated Chester-ton High School in 1994.
She is survived by her favorite person in the world, her son Gavin; her
father, Mike Griffin, and step-mother, Debbie Griffin, of Westville; her
mother, Debbie, and step-father, Butch Lange, of Sugarland; her brother,
Scotty Lange of San Diego, Calif.; grandparents, Jo Ann and Don Harris of
Dyer and Norma and John Corbett of Smithfield, N.C.; her ex-husband and good
friend, Jason Scott of Chesterton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many
beloved friends.
Traci loved spending time with Gavin and their dog Roxy and taking Gavin and
his cousin, Conor Scott, to the water park in the summer. She enjoyed warm
weather and loved to vacation in Key West, Jamaica, Arizona, California, and
Tennessee, and was an avid slalom water skier and boater, especially on Lake
Michigan. Most recently Traci had been working at Pinola Bar but was going
to start a new job on Dec. 1 so she could work days and have more time with
Gavin.
Funeral services, Pastor G. Thomas Jones officiating, are scheduled for 7
p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway in
Chesterton. Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. until the time of service
Thursday at Edmonds & Evans.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for Gavin at Chase Bank (College
Choice/Gavin Scott).
