Former Chesterton resident George F. Reick, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, in Indianapolis.

He was born Jan. 8, 1922, in Hobart.

On April 4, 1950, in Hobart, he married Isabel Mae Hess, who preceded him in death in 2001.

He is survived by a stepson, Tom (Nancy) Woodruff; grandchildren Selina (Steven) Schnadenberg, Jeff (Kim) Woodruff, Sherry (Joe) Newton, and Mark Woodruff; and great-grandchildren Cory (Kyle) Olson, Caitlen (Landon) Woodruff, Melisa Martin, Brad Martin, and Derek Michaelson.

George worked for the Teamsters for over 30 years.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at St. Paul Cemetery on Sturdy Road in Valparaiso.
