Porter resident William McCormick III died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 from
complications due to diabetes. He was 54.
Born in Manitowoc, Wisc. on Feb. 25, 1955, he was the son of William and
Lorraine (Meyer) McCormick II. He will be missed by survivors, his wife,
Salli-ann of Porter; son, Bronson McCormick (wife Jamie Demass) of
Valparaiso; daughter Katy Santana (husband Sergio) of Wisconsin; brothers
William McCormick IV (Jasmine) of Portage, Gordon McCormick (Lori) of Burns
Harbor, and Michael McCormick (Patrice) of Chesterton; sisters Debbie
McCormick of Burns Harbor, Cheryl Bonin of Chesterton and Patty McCormick of
Porter; three grandchildren and one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert. He graduated
from Chesterton High School and married Salli-ann Mertes in 1978 in Berrien
Springs, Mich. A former truck driver, he loved his Harley Davidson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Edmonds
& Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. A visitation will be held on
Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Cremation will follow services. Memorials may be made to Bill’s family.
