Robert A. Schultz of Valparaiso died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 at the Horton
VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. He was 68.
Born April 15, 1941 at his family home in Washington Township, he was the
son of Henry A. and Helen (Apt) Schultz, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife Sharon; sons Robert Schultz of Valparaiso
and Nathan Schultz of Illinois; daughter Christina Evans (husband
Christopher) of Valparaiso; brother Rodney Schultz (wife Betty) of Illinois;
sisters Diane Stenson (Don) of Michigan, Rita Zeiters (Dennis) of Kouts and
Riva Zeiters (Kendall) of Hebron; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Ronald and
Roger.
He was a millwright with Bethlehem Steel prior to retirement. He was a
member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was trained into the Stephen Ministry
before his illness. He was also a former Porter County Sheriff’s Department
Auxiliary Officer.
Funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at the Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Chesterton Chapel, 517 W. Broadway, Chesterton. Cremation will
follow at Heritage Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time
of the service at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial gifts may be made to the
VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette Street, Valparaiso.
