Chesterton resident Milton R. “Rick” Kennoy passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at the Southlake Methodist Hospital in Merrillville. He was 56.

Born on May 24, 1953 in Royal Oak, Mich., he was the son of Martin F. and Lois M. (Turner) Kennoy. On August 4, 1995, he married Tonya Leon, who survives in Chesterton.

He is also survived by his mother, Lois Kennoy of Chesterton; children Martin Kennoy of Chesterton, Tonya Kennoy of Chesterton, Ricki Hill of Illinois and Magen Kennoy of Munster; brothers Martin “Larry” Kennoy of Chesterton, Mark F. Kennoy (wife Florinda) of Las Vegas, Nev., and Marshall T. Kennoy (Betty) of Michigan City; sisters Deborah Lee Pfnister (husband John) of West Wareham, Mass., Mary Ellen Kitagawa (Richard) of Peoria, Ariz., and Martha Ann Tarintino of Porter; granddaughter Camren and grandson Nolan.

He is preceded in death by his father and by brother Michael Dean Kennoy.

Rick worked as a carpenter for Local 172 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Memorial visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Cremation will take place at Heritage Crematory. www.ee-fh.com
