Chesterton resident Patricia J. Templeton, 60, died Sunday, June 28, 2009,
at the VNA Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso.
She was born March 14, 1949, in Gary, the daughter of the late Harold A.
Pendleton and of Barbara A. Pendleton, who survives in Chesterton.
She is also survived by five siblings, Doretta (Ronald) Sturgeon of LaPorte,
Dennis (Jean) Pendleton of Trail Creek, Susan (Robert) Kist of Coloma, MIch.,
David (Laura) Pendleton of Valparaiso, and Scott (Michelle) Pendleton of
Chesterton; 12 nieces and nephews whom she doted on and spoiled; seven great
nieces and nephews; and numerous beloved friends.
Patricia was a graduate of Isaac C. Elston Sr. High School in Michigan City
and worked as a beautician and hair stylist in Michigan City and Chesterton,
for seven years a cashier a Smedman’s grocery in Chesterton, and for 20
years an executive secretary for Dill Olds. In later years she worked for
Commercial Audio, under the ownership of Dennis and Martha Bucksbarg, her
special and loving friends.
As per Patricia’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A
private family gathering will be held at a later date.
