Maude E. Kemp, of Chesterton, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Porter
Valparaiso Hospital Campus. She was 79.
She was born December 6, 1929 in Chesterton, the daughter of Charles and
Maude (Sederberg) Moore, both of whom preceded her in death.
Her husband LeRoy Kemp preceded her in death on July 28, 2006.
She is survived by five children, Patricia (Thomas) Foley, of Chesterton,
Kathy (Bob) Hommey, of Chesterton, Thomas (Debbie) Kemp, of Chesterton,
Debra (Richard) Watts, of Chesterton, and Barbara (Matt) Winter, of Canal
Fulton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister,
Catherine Wolf, of Chesterton and a brother, Charles (Gloria) Moore, of
Chesterton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Kemp on July 29, 1987. She
is also preceded in death by siblings, Jean Francis, Robert Moore, Helen
Doelling, Winifred Singer and Patricia Anderson.
Maude was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. James Meade officiating, will be offered at
1 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet
Rd., Chesterton. Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 11 from 4-8 p.m. at
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. Please note: There will
be no visitation Sunday.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
