Chesterton resident Mary E. “Polly” McAndrew, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 10,
2009.
She was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Newbern, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. McAndrew.
She is survived by a son, John T. (Anna) McAndrew Jr. of Valparaiso; a
daughter, Carol E. (Jack) Campbell of Chesterton; grandchildren, Jason and
Sean McAndrew, Carrie Capehart, Jill Campbell, Jackie Clark, and Catherine
Traughber; step-grandchildren, Lena and Alec; great-grandchildren, Robbie,
Alissa, and Aubrey Capehart, Cadynce Clark, and Donnie Clark; nephew, Jim
(Mary Catherine) Parker; and great nieces, Derla, Denise, and Crystal Gross.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eddie Earl; a sister, Frances (Franio);
two brothers, Oliver and Franklin; and a niece, Olivia Gross.
Polly was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chesterton and a former
member of the First Baptist Church in Hobart. She had been a Lake Station
resident for over 55 years and worked briefly for Jannasch, Langbehn, and
Pampalone Insurance in Merrillville prior to her retirement.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, the Revs. Richard Brown and Larry
Starett officiating. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements were completed by Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road in
Hobart.
