Lorraine Lucille Crawford, of Chesterton, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009
at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus. She was 88.
She was born December 6, 1920 in Chesterton, the daughter of Andrew and
Lucille (Maysienski) Demorotski, both of whom preceded her in death.
On November 28, 1940 at St. Patrick Church in Chesterton, she married Gerald
E. Crawford, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son Terry Crawford, of Chesterton; daughter, Jean
(Claude) Swanson, of Chesterton; grandchildren, Mark (Jamee) Swanson, of
Westville, Karrie (Eric) James, of Chicago, Brad (Michelle) Crawford of
Minn., Brian Crawford, of Mo. and great-grandchildren, Zoe Swanson, Maizy
Swanson and Eli Crawford.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Gregory Scott Swanson and
brothers, Norman Demorotski, Richard Demorotski and Leonard Demorotski.
Lorraine was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Chesterton, St.
Patrick Women’s Club and St. Pat’s Seniors Group. She was retired from
Hospital Microfilming in Chesterton and was a member of Royal Neighbors of
America. She loved to cook and crochet. Lorraine was a loving mother and
grandmother and was a good neighbor.
A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. James Meade officiating, will be offered at
1 p.m. Saturday, May 9 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd.
Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Saturday at
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd Street, Chesterton.
Memorials may be given to The Waters of Duneland Activity Department.
