Karen S. Oliver, age 66, of Chesterton, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Michigan City. 

Karen was born in Willimantic, Conn. On March 14, 1942, the daughter of Aquila and Susan (Larrow) Sylvester, both of whom preceded her in death. 

On July 14, 1990 in Cape Coral, Fla. she married Bruce Oliver, who survives in Chesterton. 

 Karen is also survived by a son John (Sheree) Hills of Prairie Springs, Tenn.; daughters, Debbie (Robert) Metcalf of Cape Coral, Fla. and Michelle (Michael) Osmolski of Cape Coral, Fla.; step-children, Douglas Oliver of North Carolina, Scott Oliver of Chesterton, and Judy Oliver of Bradenburg, Ky.; a brother, Don T. (Irma) Sylvester of Floral Home, Fla.; 11 grandchidren and two great grandchildren. 

She was preceded also in death by a sister Sandra Enes.

Karen worked at Liberty National in insurance sales and was a member of Chesterton American Legion Post 170 Women’s Auxillary.

There will be no services, cremation will be at Heritage Crematory, Portage. 

Memorials may be made to the Chesterton American Legion Post 170.
