Judy Koussiafes, the mother of a Chesterton resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 20,
2009, at home. A resident of Miami, Fla., she was 75.
She was born on July 29, 1934, in Gary.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Pierre Koussiafes, in Miami; her
daughters, Penny (David) Holsclaw of Chesterton and Jenny Tracey; stepsons,
Michael Koussiafes and Bradley (Myra) Koussiafes; granddaughters, Jillian
and Katelyn Holsclaw and Genesis and Zoe Koussiafes; a sister, Bonnie (Jack)
Hubbard; and a brother, Richard Heck.
Judy had strength, an indomitable will, insight, and warmth. Though she
recently had health concerns, she was fiercely unwilling to let them
discourage her, and her strength helped to shape a family of strong, capable
women.
The family thanks everyone who supported Judy during her most recent
illness.
