Michigan City resident Gregory J. Wood, Sr., died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009 at his home in Michigan City. He was 58.

Born Dec. 12, 1950 in Michigan City, he was the son of Westley and Margaret (Venice) Wood Jr. His father preceded him in death, while his mother survives in Michigan City.

Also surviving is daughter Lisa Munguia (husband Darcy) of Chesterton; sons Gregory J. Wood Jr. (wife Anne) of Valparaiso and Jeremy R. Wood of Michigan City; grandchildren Nikki, Kaley, and Kia Munguia of Chesterton; and brother Doug Wood (Chris) of Trail Creek.

Wood was a 1969 graduate of Elston High School and had been a custodian at Marsh School for more than 20 years.

Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington St., Michigan City, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Cremation will take place.
