Former Porter resident, Frederick C. Hamm, Sr. 44 of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at his home.

He was born August 30, 1964, in Valparaiso, the son of Joseph M. and Donna (Sederberg) Hamm, Sr.

Surviving are his children, Amber (Blake) Clayborn of Virginia, Frederick Hamm, Jr. of Valparaiso and Raychel Joseph of Texas; grandson Nathan Clayborn; granddaughter Maecy Underwood and his mother Donna Hamm of Valparaiso.

Also surviving are his brothers, William (Pat) Hamm and Joseph (Francis) Hamm of Illinois and Donald (Geneva) Stringer of Florida; his sisters, Susan Sledge of Gary, Cindy (Al) Mills of Alabama and Vickie (Sam) Morales of Valparaiso and several nieces and nephews.

Fred was a laborer and a commercial fisherman. He loved fishing and hanging out with his son.

Funeral Services, Pastor Phil Willingham officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, at Bartholomew Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Valparaiso.

Visitation will be Friday, at 10 until time of services. Memorial donations may be made “to the family to help with expenses”.
