Alfred Anton Dlutkowski, 75, of Beverly Shores, passed away at 11:25 p.m.,
Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at his home after a brief bout with cancer.
He was born in Chicago, October 21, 1933, the son of Walter and Marie (Parus)
Dlutkowski, and step-father, John Kryzsko.
Surviving Al is a loving wife of 52 years, Jeanenne; children, Paul
(Cynthia) Dlutkowski of Chesterton, Susan (David Harmon) Dlutkowski of
Atlantic Mine, Mich., Lisa (Peter) David of Washburn, Wis., Gary (Stephanie)
Berch of Granger; nine adoring grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law,
Marge Berch.
Upon completing honorable service in the U.S. Army, he married his childhood
sweetheart, Jeanenne Berch, in Chicago, on August 18, 1956. Together they
have four children whom they raised in Beverly Shores. For 26 years, Al
worked for Jaymar Ruby, Michigan City, as a credit manager. Al enjoyed
family, traveling, reading and beach time. He was a fount of knowledge of
history, sports and old movies. The focus of his life was his family all of
whom will miss his devotion, gentle demeanor, charming story telling and
delightful humor.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation will take
place. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte is
caring for the arrangements.
