Wilma Jean Kurtos dies at 69

Wilma Jean Kurtos, of Porter, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008 at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Michigan City. She was 69.

She was born Sept. 20, 1938 in Dawson Springs, Ky. the daughter of Oscar and Rama (Lovin) Mitchell, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband Paul Kurtos, of Porter.

She is also survived by daughters, Lori (Terry) Callaway, of Chicago and Linda Kurtos, of Chicago; brothers, Thomas (Judy) Mitchell, of Portage, Kenneth (Ann) Mitchell, of Hobart, Robert (Betty) Mitchell, of Portage, William (Rosemary) Mitchell, of Russellville, James Howard (Louise) Mitchell of Roseville, Mich. and Joseph Mitchell, of South Bend; a sister, Mildred Moore, of Mayfield, Ky. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Bruce and brothers, Edward and Charles Mitchell.

Wilma enjoyed playing Bunco with her Bunco Club and also enjoyed gardening and cooking. She also enjoyed antiquing and was an antique dealer over the years.

Funeral services, Pastor Katie Lindberg officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 at White-Love Funeral Home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4 at White-Love Funeral Home.
