V. Blanche Swink, of Chesterton, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the VNA Horton Hospice Center, Valparaiso. She was 91.

She was born in Harden County, Ky. on Sept. 28, 1916, the daughter of Ed and Latisha (Butler) McGuffin, both of whom preceded her in death.

On Sept. 28, 1936 she married Farral L. Swink who preceded her in death on April 1, 1993.

She is survived by a son, Lee Swink of Chesterton; a sister Louise (Hugho) Hornsby of Fripp Island, S.C.; grandchild, Crystal L. (Tim) Callaway; great-grandchildren, Casandra and Timothy Jr. Callaway; Cherished friend and daughter-in-law Betty Swink of Chesterton.

Blanche was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment will be a Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials for Blanche may be made to the VNA Horton Hospice Center or the First Christian Church.
