Robert C. Ziegler, 82, of Clinton, Mo., passed away Monday,
September 22, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
He was born in Nazareth, Pa.
In 1965, he married Gerri L.
Cline, who survives.
He is also survived by four
sons and one daughter, Thomas Karl (Patricia) Ziegler of Palatka, Fla., David
Michael (Melinda) Ziegler of Tampa, Fla., Stephen John (Cathy) Ziegler of
Boone, N.C., Joan Vennerstrom of North Port, Fla., Dan (Arlene) Sowards of
Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Mark and Kelsey Ziegler, David (Robin)
Ziegler, Matthew Ziegler, Sarah and David, Jr., Danielle and Christopher
Sowards, Lindsey, Whitney and Dustin Graham, Leslie (Dan) Nobile; seven great
grandchildren, Daniel, Gabriella, Isabella and Lucia Nobile and Cole, Riley
and Kyla Daniels; one brother, John (Helen) Ziegler of Nazareth, Pa., and one
sister Elizabeth (Dr. Roy) Hand of Abington, Pa.
Bob was a major in the U.S.
Marine Corps, serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He worked for
Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Buffalo, N.Y., working in the general
manager’s office as the company’s community affairs director. He later worked
as the manager for the new Exposition Center and Fairgrounds at Valparaiso.
Twenty years ago, they moved
to Clinton, where he worked part-time for Herman Lumber Company and
eventually started Bob’s Sharpening Service. He was very active in the
Presbyterian Church as a deacon, an elder, and on the building and grounds
committee. He also did lay preaching for the church and other churches in the
surrounding areas.
Memorial services were at the
First Presbyterian Church in Clinton. Inurnment was at Englewood Columbarium.

contributions be given to the First Presbyterian Church and can be sent to
