Rita Ann Pratt, of Chesterton, passed away Friday, January 25, 2008 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus, Valparaiso. She was 77.

She was born Aug. 17, 1930 in East Chicago, Ind. the daughter of Louis and Mary (Dougherty) Deiotte, both of whom preceded her in death.

On June 30, 1953 in Chesterton, she married Charles Aery Pratt, who survives in Chesterton.

She is also survived by her children Peg (Ric) Youngren, Patti (Dennis) Scott, Barbara (Kevin) Kinel, Charley (Chris) Pratt and Kate (Kelli) Pratt; grandchildren, Leslee Scott, Brian Scott, Kevin Scott, Aery Pratt, Tommy Pratt and Megan Pratt and great-granddaughter, Alyssa Scott-Rich; siblings, Arlene Tilden, Kathy Arvin, Rosalie Fox, Terry Sconce, Phil Deiotte and Leo Deiotte and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Rogers and brothers, Louis Deiotte and Roger Deiotte.

Rita was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Chesterton. She was a graduate of Chesterton High School Class of 1948 and St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Ind.

Private family services were held. Fr. James Meade officiated.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.
