Mildred Madeline Golubovich (nee Ciganovich) died August 15, 2008 at
Lexington Health Care Center in Chicago Ridge, Ill. at the age of 100.
She was born May 27, 1908 in Chicago, the daughter of Peter and Milka
Ciganovich who both preceded her in death.
On July 17, 1932 at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Chicago,
she married Peter Golubovich, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter Elaine Smith, two grandchildren, Kathleen
Miller (Mike) of Chesterton and Patrick Smith (Sherri); four
great-grandchildren, Kelly Smith, Hayley Miller, Casey Smith and Hanna
Miller, all of Chesterton, and a brother, John Ciganovich, of McHenry, Ill.
She is also surviced by a niece, Marsha Marovich and a nephew, Bob Cegann.
Other family members surviving are two great-nieces, Marbeth Cegann and
Debbie (Mark) Toth and great-nephew Richard Trembley.
Mildred was a homemaker with a great faith in God, and lovingly cared for her
family through the years. She was a member of St. Archangel Michael Serbian
Orthodox Church, Lansing, Ill. She had a great love for Chesterton. She
visited her family here for many years until the time she went into a nursing
home at 96 years old.
Visitation will be from from 11 a.m. - Noon, with a funeral service to follow
at Noon on Tuesday, Aug. 19 at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church,
in Lansing, Ill.
