Mary Lou Shobe (Nee Crisman), age 57, of Hobart passed away,
Friday, December 5, 2008.
She is survived by her
husband, Don Shobe of Hobart; two children, Daniel (Amanda) Shobe of Hobart;
Jennifer (Chris) Kruhm of Hobart; one granddaughter, Michaella, mother and
father-in-law Virginia and Wayne Shobe (Chesterton business owners); one
sister-in-law, Mary Crisman of Versailles; one nephew, Michael (Jennifer)
Crisman of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by
her parents, Robert (Ruth) Crisman, and one brother, William R. Crisman.
Mary Lou was a lifelong
Hobart/Wheeler resident. She was an active member of Our Lady of Sorrows
where she served on the church council. She also served the church as a
lector, and as a Eucharistic minister. She was an avid bike rider and loved
animals, sewing, and buying and selling things on ebay.
Celebration of the Mass of
Christian burial, Rev. Douglas Mayer officiating, will be Thursday, December
11, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows, 356 W. Seven Mile Road, Valparaiso.
Cremation will follow the service.
Visitation is Wednesday,
December 10, from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. with a 3 p.m. Rosary service at
Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Additional visitation will
take place on Thursday just prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at
Our Lady of Sorrows.
