Marian Norma Cuellar, a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
great-great grandmother, and Sunday School teacher, whose love and nuturing
touched the lives of many, was born January 3, 1920 in Missouri. Marian, 88,
passed away May 1, 2008 at her home in Valparaiso.
A long-time Porter resident, she was preceded in death by loving husbands,
Paul (Jack) Evans (1914-1943) and Luis L. Cuellar, Sr. (1916-2004)
She is survived by eight children, Billie (Barb) Evans, of Lake Station, Sue
Vance, of Michigan City, Sandra Cuellar, of Porter, Patricia (Jim) Ireland,
of Portage, Barbara (Loren) England, of Valparaiso, Linda (Dean) Christensen,
of Chesterton, Luis L. (Sandra) Cuellar, Jr. DDS, of Valparaiso, Ani Cuellar
of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Paul (Dawn) Evans, Shane (Shannon) Evans,
Damita Evans, Danny (Ann) Vandiver, James (Renee) Vandiver, Susan (Leonard)
Shields, George “Monty” (Dawn) Vance, Patrick (Debby) Vance, Kimberly Condon,
Valerie (Shawn) Crane, David Maron, Beth Ireland, Marc (Jennifer) England,
Maria (Michael) Micka, Anthony Hailey, Michael (Stephanie) Hailey, Donald
(Debbie), Robin, Christian (Kimberly) and Patrick Christensen, Dawn

She is also survived by sisters, Mary Clemens and Blanche Perfetto, as well
as many nieces and nephews and other loved ones, Dallas Hailey and Wanda
Tucker.
Funeral services, Rev. Ed Bontreger officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Monday,
May 5 at Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Interment
will be at Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, May 4 and
Monday from 10-11 a.m.
